Allied Nations planning!
Proposal for the Allied Nations
The Allied Nations would be the international legislative body for the world. Ensuring peace reigns freely for countries, and while it would not get involved militarily, it would provide international peace keepers.
Possible flag of the AN:

That flag will do but we still need a charter for the Allied Nations. I seriously think that ALL nations participating in the NS2 world RP should be active in creating this charter because it is what will regulate us in that game. It is not to be taken lightly.

The Grand Duchy of Qlorplox is interested in this endeavour.

Re: Allied Nations planning!
Yes, it would be almost identical.
However, instead of a security council, it would have a Secretariat. Which the position would rotate from weekly. Nations get to vote in favor or against certain actions, but the Secretariat would basically be the president. And the FOUNDING members would pass it along weekly as to who is the Secretariat.
Sounds good?
Yeah Q, I got the Secretariat from the AoSS, go ahead tell DV and the rest of them to sue me!

Yes, However we do still need members of this to help with the formation of a charter! We need to get that done as soon as possible in order to have a set of rules which we are all expected to abide by so that there is no more confusion on the "International Law" That some of us have been accused of breaking. Of course with there being no set international law no nation has actually broken it. But this will be the international law once it is made.

Phenosia shall take part in the establishment of the AN. It seems like a great idea. Does someone want to write up a rough draft of a charter?

I had no idea. I've heard of the game, but haven't played it.
I just typed in Allied Nations on google, went to images, and then on the first page towards the bottom, was this majestic eagle outlined in blue!
And I had found it!

The Revolutionary Socialist State of Toukam is behind the AN. And we will gladly participate in creating the charter of the AN.
The secretariat rotating is a good idea, but what shall their powers entail? And what shall be the difference between the founding members power, and that of the later signees be?

I believe that will be addressed during the creation of the Charter. It is very important that it be decided quickly.

Re: Allied Nations planning!
Rough ideas for the charter...
- Secretariat is the most powerful official, Presidential powers over the AN, not each sovereign nation part of the AN, very keen difference.
- Secretariat will be a rotating position between the founding members of the AN, going through a weekly cycle
- While each nation may be represented at the AN, they are sovereign nations, and may run the nation the way they like, but sanctions may be placed upon a nation that violates international law like peace, human rights, WMD's, etc...
- Later signees to the charter may be added, but will not hold as much legislative power as the founders, and will not be in the Secretariat rotation...
Thoughts?

Re: Allied Nations planning!
It sounds good so far. But what about international law. If the nations involved need to vote what will the policy be? what majority would there need to be in order to pass something?

Re: Allied Nations planning!
Hmmm.... I'd say that a simple majority would suffice for now.
I need to clarify the founding members thus far.

Sorry Jen'ari, you just got here, and are just starting, once you start playing the RP's a little then we can amend the founders list. But I think other non-founders would be up in arms if I placed a nation with 2 posts as the head of the AN.
International Law, just like in the real world, can't be contained by us. So we threaten sanctions against countries if they brake the international law. Not a whole lot more we can do...

Re: Allied Nations planning!
I understand there is not sufficient punishment i simply would like to clairify what such laws are. After all I have been accused of breaking them when there were no specified laws in place. I would like to know what is and what is not against ACTUAL international law here. I find it irritating to be accused of breaking a law that does not exist here in this forum.

Re: Allied Nations planning!
Well quite honestly, you haven't broken any thus far, because there isn't any thus far!
The AN would be where we make the laws, there hasn't been such a governing force until now, and therefore there is no law you have broken.

Re: Allied Nations planning!
That is what i thought. Thank you. But now we must set up laws. We need to have some sort of limitations to what is expected of a civilized nation. Obviously we can not continue much longer without these laws because it will result in more incidents such as the Toukam vs. Dijolo one. For one, Nuclear war should be against international law. And all tests should be conducted underground so that people in their respective countries are safe from the radiation. If not underground then in space.

Re: Allied Nations planning!
I like the idea of a rotating Secretariat. We could perhaps have an elected Deputy Secretariat, as well?
Shall we assume the Geneva and Hague Conventions are in place, as well? For that seems sensible.

Re: Allied Nations planning!
I would prefer not in space, we don't know the kind of damage it could pose to the planet.
But this is for us to discuss after the charter. I'll post my draft tomorrow.

I agree, the radiation in space could hurl back towards the planet, should all nuke testing be outlawed then?

Re: Allied Nations planning!
Very well. That sounds good. And should we be able to make amendments to the "Founding nations" It seems to me that that wouldnt change? you cant come in and have joined after it was founded and be called a founding nation.

Re: Allied Nations planning!
Alright guys, I'm tired I've traveled so much in the past 5 days. I'll talk with you all tomorrow.
Nuke testing should be allowed underground with proper approval from the founders, the list we can debate later.
THIS SHOULD BE FOR AFTER WE ACTUALLY ESTABLISH THE AN!!!

would I be considered a founding nation since I came into this so late, because I am giving a little input on what I think about things and whatnot.
