Powers and Procedures of the Domestic Committee (Passed Apr 06 2009)
Powers and Procedures of the Domestic Committee
Nations who are a member of the Domestic committee shall have the power to enforce all Domestic laws which include, but are not limited to; Nation Rights, Inactive Nations, Reinforce Diplomacy Congruence. The following list the powers of these members and their appointment.
1) The elected President shall post his/her potential appointment to the Domestic Committee.
2) This appointment will be sent to the “Appointment Committee” for vetting and appointment
3) The Domestic Committee shall consist of at least 3 members but no more than 5, with one member acting as the “chair” of the committee.
4) The chair of the committee will direct Committee Members to monitor nations in the GIA and their compliance with all Domestic laws.
5) If a Nation is found to be in violation of a Domestic Law it will be the Chair’s responsibility to report this violation to the President as well as a telegram to the nation in question.
6) Each time a new President is elected, he/she has the right to replace any or all members of the Domestic Committee, as well as the Chair of the Committee.
7) Said appointee shall be confirmed once he/she has reached a 51 percent majority of all voting members of the Appointment Committee.
The confirmed appointee will remain in his/her post as long as the following remain constant:
8a) The current President remains in office
8b) The appointee faithfully observes the powers granted by the GIA for his/her position.
9) If an appointee does not abide by the rules described in this legislation the following action can and will be taken:
9a) The President may remove the appointee from his/her post.
9b) The appointee may be subject to an impeachment if 2/3 of all members in the Appointment Committee agrees this action is necessary.
10) This list of powers granted can be expanded with future legislation.[b][u]
