NS2 world RP

Alright this our current map for the NS2 map...



Just let me know where you want your nation. Please be relatively reasonable of your selections, i.e. don't choose a continent as your nation.

Could we maybe get a higher resolution picture? I don't even know which continent is which.

Speaking of which, can we choose a location that isn't on the NS2 continent where we reside?

Best I could do. Part of the easternmost continent is cut, but I'll figure it out when someone actually chooses a territory.

And this isn't really like NS2 maps, It's just a GIA map. So any member of the GIA can play, not really anyone else. Especially since its done through the offsite forum. So you can go anywhere, note if it is way too big, I'm going to resize your territory.

OK, I'll take the portion of land to the south of NR that looks like a chicken drumstick, and the three groups of surrounding islands. (one group to the south of Citrustan mainland, one to the northeast, and one sort of in the center/east)

What color do you want to be? Do you care?

Looks good. Do you think I could also have the three sets of neighboring islands? There are a few to my south, a few (including one fairly big one) to my northeast, and a couple to the southeast of Citrustan's narrow isthmus. I think it would make sense for those islands to be part of Citrustan.

I also added temporary boundaries where I'd like people to choose from. Though like I said, its temporary so if nations really don't join in, in the RP, then I could change it.

I will take the land farthest to the left in the middle of the screen on the large continent. Kind of looks like a head with a mouth.

Now you will have to excuse my "noobness" I have never really done a web based style of rpg before. Would it be too much to ask what the protocol is for that? Is it just similar to ns2 only with more options or are there other things I should be aware of?

Not a problem. So I've got a few games setup that we can play. I posted them on NS2 as well.

For both maps, we can play "World War," which is pretty easy to understand. The RPA, Role Playing Arbiter, which until formalized, I shall take up that duty, chooses an area of the map and creates an international crisis, with many competing interests, the nations will begin warring. And this is for ALL RP games:

The RPA will give each nation involved certain amount of money, propaganda points, soldiers, research credits etc... which each nation will use. The map will be focused into a region, and nations will invade certain areas, some of which may be better for one nation than another, while some may be easier to attain for one nation or another. Depending on how much they spent, how many troops they sent, etc.... the RPA will calculate who wins. I'll need to figure out the mathematical equation, but you do not know how much the other person/people are spending.


For the real world map, I have one game:

NATO vs. Warsaw - Pretty self explanatory, it's the cold war, it can be 1v1 or in teams, same concept, you spend certain amounts, do a certain amount of propaganda in a nation, and they'll go democracy or communist. Sound good?

I can include dice rolls to posting options for this. Also by altering some of the names and purposes etc i could possibly create nation statistic sheets which can contain changeable information about fro example military strength, GDP etc

so when you say dice rolls is that a similar equivalent to the rolls in a game like Risk? I am just trying to understand the verbiage associated with this stuff so I am not totally lost when the game gets going lol.

With some quick admin changes I have created a test die with 6 sides. This is how it works (see next post). When you click, dices rolls, you get a second post which gives the result of the roll. This can then correspond to something we have agreed to previously.

The member 'Gracania' has done the following action : Dices roll

'Test die' : 2

Alright, yeah. I'll figure out a way to utilize the dice. It'll be easy to use in team games.



A side note, I'm thinking that we have a historical wars section, in which we all participate, and work our way up to the present. So while I may fight WW2 against Gracania, the entire alliance participates in one.

So there will be an entire alliance RP. And there will also be an RP where people can challenge one another to different contests.

The RPA will be in charge of assigning what statistics to which countries and whatnot...
