Re: Political Parties
Very well Nasha, it is your sovereign right to do so. I'm going to make a new thread the official Nominating Thread of Political Parties of the GIA. There I'll list out what should be had in order to become a sanctioned political party. This will be for the continued brainstorming of how to incorporate the partisan politics into the GIA.

Re: Political Parties
the thing is that if we have, lets say, 5 political parties, where will there be room for that? Already the forum is a tangled nearly unorganized mess in which it is hard to find a certain thread. For the political parties, what would we do to ensure organization for that?

Re: Political Parties
Maybe that is what the off-site forum can be good for. I know that certain threads can only be visible to specific members, so maybe you have a general topic thread dedicated to the parties set of values, beliefs, and goals. Then if you become a member of said party you can see the other political discussions taking place within the thread. Votes can be cast for party leaders within this forum much easier than NS2 and it could eliminate a lot of the "clutter" related to the NS2 forum.

yes, Nova.
Look at the upper part of the screen, there is a line with home portal calender...etc. right in the middle there is, "Usergroups." Parties that are sanctioned by the cabinet would be officially created as a usergroup.

Re: Political Parties
Right now to get on my official Admin hat (yes it's one of those with the little spinners on)
Here is the lowdown on usergroups:
So if you want any specific usergroups let me know and I'll create them for you.
Here is the lowdown on usergroups:
- They can only be formed by an admin so if you want to make one ask me to do it for you.
- There are three types, Open, Closed and Hidden. You have to be invited to a closed group, hidden groups you can't even see and with open groups you simply apply and the group moderator either lets you in or refuses you.
- Usergroups on their own have few obvious purposes alone but they can be coupled with some cool things that make them interesting:
- Group moderators can send out mass PMs to all members of a usergroup
- Certain categories or forums can be set to only allow or deny certain usergroups to see them. Categories are the titles that forums are in, for example Role Play is in Non-Political discussion. There is already a cabinet area and appointment committee area. Some others I'm going to add anyway such as a moderators area.
So if you want any specific usergroups let me know and I'll create them for you.
Re: Political Parties
That sounds very interesting and very good. I like that.

Re: Political Parties
Noting that only one political party exists as of current, would anyone wish to join me in creating a Centrist-Liberal party?

Re: Political Parties
Qlorplox, I shall join you.
What should the party be called? The Progressive Moderates? The... Constitutional Party? I don't know, but I consider myself left, but not too left.

Re: Political Parties
I suggest you discuss this in private messages. When you have a coherent plan present it.
Re: Political Parties
This is weird, NR told me there are no conservatives here, but I am willing to make a political party that is Center-Right.
Anyone interested?

You could join the Progressive Moderates, we're somewhat centrist. And not quite existent yet.

Re: Political Parties
I guess I could, but from what "Phenosia," has told me, you guys are socially liberal. What exactly would you consider the difference between real world socially liberal, and this games socially liberal. Hey! Maybe I'm not conservative after all!

Re: Political Parties
Freedom of Choice. Non-interference in people's private affairs. Is probably a good summing up of the viewpoint.
Economically Pragmatic, also.

Re: Political Parties
Sounds close enough. I'm all about keeping the government small. But we can work on that later, once its established. I'm in!

I'm not centre-left or centre-right. I'm centrist.
The Progressive-Moderates are fall all near the centre.
