WW 1 roleplay

Excellent so I've got the British Empire at the time of 1914 (damned American revolution)

Got the map, but just realize, no one is germany...

I guess I can do a NPC for it. And Collective is the Austro-Hungarian empire. So I could also just make him, the Central Powers.

Thoughts?

I've just realize that this will be a smaller map, it will be mainly a map of europe. Not a whole lot was done fighting in the pacific. Mainly Japan bombing German outposts...

If you want a Germany, I could play, rather than Spain, but I was planning on severely messing up the war...

Yeah I'm fine with that. Does the map include North Africa and the middle East though?

Laughs. If you're fine with it, it could make it a whole lot easier. Rather than me, as in New Roosevelt, this is a dummy account for NPCing, going back and forth. I'd know the strategy of both sides. Eek... That could be bad.

Now the question is, should this be the start to our Historical world map RP? Or an individual game?

We could play it out from here to modern day differently.

Say, for example if Germany won the war, we'd have a different twentieth century, I suppose.

Yeah that's what I am asking. For large scale maps, we have 4 in mind. Currently only using the NS2 world map.

We have the Historical world map RP, which I'm wondering if this could be the start of it.

Then there is the Current world map RP, starting right now in 2009, we forge our own path, and make history.

The Redesigned world map RP, Qlorplox, this would be like the one we have on the AoSS. Lynneth even sent me a copy of his map!


But back to point, I think that this could be the start of the Historical world map RP. But if it is, I got to setup the R's and R's of Historical world map RP.

A historical World Map RP sounds good

A couple of problems with the map:

Alsace Lorraine is French in that map and the Russo-German border is a bit funny.

I think Romania was also existent.

But the general gist of the map is correct.

Just like to point out that if this is 1914 then Ireland is part of the UK. What will probably happen is we'll iron out the problems as we go. Are we going to have some triggers even though its an alternate history that mighave happened despite the war such as the crucial Easter Rising of 1916? Also I think we should start late 1913 to give people a chance to change foreign policy etc. Of course the war could have been started by the French invasions of Morocco andnot he murder of the arch duke.

I agree with Gracania. Let's just say the year is 1910.

I'll mainly be the RPA official, seeing as how the US doesn't come into play till 1917.

1910, while it may be the historical world map RP, do you guys want to follow the history by the book? Or do we want to rewrite it a little bit?

I think we should have some preagreed events that do follow history butallow us to go our own way with it.

Just because its 1910 you can't leave ireland out of the UK. Ireland joined Britiain after the act of union (1801) and only became independent in 1922.

Gracania, did you have anything in mind about certain events?

Well I was thinking things like the assasination of th arch duke, easter rising in Ireland etc. Maybe the events should be dependant upon conditions in the country, that way we can get in the trench revolts and the rise of socialism.

I think for historical games we should appoint an RP historian to hep with keeping games as authentic as people want them, taking care of things as minor as uniforms to as important as political leaders.

I don't quite follow as for the historian RP helper.

Presumably that means someone to advise as to historical accuracy. So we don't have invincible Tank swarms unlike in the AoSS WW1...

This is good. I agree with Gracania, the RP should follow actual history to some extent.

Yes, as of right now. While you may do so in secrecy, if nothing more than to keep the comments down, you must post the title of the alliance here. BUT it does not have to be fully documented.

I would personally like to volunteer to look after the historical aspect of the game. I have a specific interest in history and what I don't now I can easily find out. I think this role ought to include making sure things stay to an extent accurate while allowing for free play. Also they should give assistance for nations wanting specific infomation on their nation at the time.

This will actually help, you guys have no idea how long it took me to try and find the population numbers for pre-WW1. Sheesh. That reminds me, still haven't checked Italy. Oops.
